fall-tastic

Today I decided to ignore the fact that it's still 90 degrees outside and pick up a few of my fall favorites.  I went with some apple cider, baby pumpkins, a delicious new candle, and some fresh apples for my homemade applesauce (recipe to come). It feels cooler and crisper in the air already!  

The transition from Summer to Fall in Vegas takes forever (not literally), but once it starts cooling down I absolutely LOVE it. It's my favorite season and it makes suffering through an unbearable, horrible, terrible, no good Summer totally worth it. :)

I woke up feeling much better this morning. Thank you so much to all of you who sent texts or called me to make sure I was okay! I did not expect the outpour of love over a little cold, but I'll take it and I appreciate it! If you didn't text or call me, there's always next time. ;)

This weekend consisted of runny noses, sore throats, lots of tea, and a few good movies. Since both of us are sick we didn't do much of anything this weekend. I managed to make it to class Saturday morning (which is always a bummer) and we ventured out of the house for food when we had to, but other than that, we rested. 

Joel took very good care of me this weekend. I'm not an easy pill to swallow when I don't feel good. I'm grumpy, irritable, and really just no fun at all. Luckily, Joel is the most patient human being on the face of the planet and remembers that this monster he is living with will go away once I feel better. :)

So this post is dedicated to Joel.

back to normal

The last couple of months have been nothing short of crazy for us. We went to two amazing weddings, I started school at UNLV (which has been an exciting but stressful adjustment), and Joel has been working really long hours to meet all of his deadlines. However, life is finally slowing back down and we are settling back into our normal routine. Now all we need is for the weather to cool down about 20 more degrees so we can start enjoying fall like the rest of the country. :)
