date night

Hi all! Happy Friday! Last night was date night with my cousin, Jackie. We went to dinner and did some serious catching up. I also found out that she got a new car - and it just happens to be the same kind of car that I drive. Twins! Of course hers is newer and prettier and cleaner than mine - but whatever. :) I had such a great time and I'm already excited about the next time we get to hang out! Everything about this post makes me warm and fuzzy inside. I don't know what it is about a little sparkle that makes me so happy, but it works everytime. I never used to be much of a sparkle/glitter/sequin type of girl, but the older I get the more I love the stuff. For all of you girls out there that could use a daily dose of glittery goodness, I highly recommend subscribing to The Glitter Guide. Yesterday I went to my very first kick-boxing class with the boyfriend. I was a little nervous about it at first just because it's totally out of my comfort zone, but I actually ended up liking it!  It kicked my butt, but it was so much better than just going to the gym and spending an hour on the treadmill. I highly recommend checking out a class if you can!

I had such a good time in Oregon this weekend! The weather was amazing, I got to spend a lot of time with all of my nephews, catch up with family I hadn't seen in years, and be with everyone during my Great Grandma's memorial. I took a lot of pictures with my good camera but haven't had the chance to sort through them yet, so all you get for now are my iphone pictures. :) I'll post the others soon!

I'm leaving for Oregon tonight. I am so excited to see my family - especially my nephews. It's so crazy how fast they grow up. It's also crazy how old I just felt typing that. Gah. The reason I'm going is my great grandmother's memorial service. It will be an emotional weekend but I am so glad I can be there with everyone to celebrate her life and the memories we all have of her. I know it's only Thursday but I won't be posting again until Monday, so I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

My favorite way to add color and a little excitement to any outfit is with lip color. Until about a year ago I was only a lip gloss girl, but since purchasing my first lipstick, I have been addicted. These are the colors I am wearing right now. I decided to add a little fuchsia and coral to my collection for Spring. I love to sport a bold lip with other bold accessories or with a more neutral outfit to add interest. Either way, it's fun! If you have any color recommendations, feel free to share! :)
